Are you dead set on those plans? Or can you be persuaded to ditch the mud flaps and led lights...

Why would i want to do that just out of interest?
I was thinking the mud flaps will make it look wider and lower, i dont really want to go lowering it!

Because they both look hideous.
Everything else sounds fairly good, it's just the mud flaps and led rear lights will let it down hugely. And even if you do go ahead with them, you'll only end up taking them off after a while just like everyone else does.

I think il go ahead with the mud flaps, il post some pictures, to be honest im not convinced about the LED lights, my dad seen them in Halfords, 140 quid! im going to have a look at them next week, i trust his judgement most of the time, hes owned some really nice looking cars, il try get a picture of his vRS tomorrow

If your really set on getting the lights please don't buy them from Halfords, they're over 50% cheaper than that on ebay.

Wise choice.
The standard lights are MK1's look pretty good as they are. Smoked jewels are also another option. Both look good.

Sounds like a good set of plans
I got my car with 45,000 miles on it and it was a 1998 model. Since then i've had to get next calipers, disks and pads (front only as it's a 1.1) and a pair of new driveshafts. Totaled about a grand.. Paid 1500 for the entire car!
So yes, very good mileage
I'd agree with the comment saying some cars look good with mudflaps. I'm considering getting some standard citroen ones at some point as i live a mile up a farm track and my car gets filthy very quickly.
With the rear wheel arches i found i had quite a lot of rust where the boot floor met the arch.. Because i have a base model this rust was visible, but there may be some hidden under the carpet on your car. Might be worth checking it out..
It's interesting what you said about the door pins.... i've been thinking the very same thing recently. Plus i dont have central locking so it'd be a real pain.
Anyway, looks like it could make for a very nice car. Good luck
