UPDATE:
well as some know it went into the garage for a check-up before the MOT to sort out the problems it had. My mechanic at the garage phoned me up and said, we've got an open MOT slot, do you want us to put it through and then we know what needs doing.
I thought, yeah why not, seeing as theyre doing the MOT cheaper and i get a free re-test anyway. So through it went...and...FAIL
Havnt seen the official document yet, but what iv been told over the phone is as follows:
- Offside Front tire bald
- Rear Indicator bulbs discoloured
- Front Headlight (morettes) Not fitted correctly and not pointing in correct direction
- Rear brakes not registering any effect (eek)
- Offiside Ball joint In need of Replacement
- Nearside CV Boot not attatched properly, but probably needs replacing
..and now the worrying one...
- Emissions
Apparentely, it not only failed on emissions, the emissions werent even close!
The exhaust has been blowing for a while, which doesnt help emissions, but apparently that coupled with the fact i have an induction kit on caused it to fail.
so im off down to the scrappies by foot to try and get a standard airbox, which could prove fun!
cars getting everything else fixed in the garage today (or at least i hope it will be done by today) then hopefully retest and it'll be ok
Been quoted £350 for the repair work.
Not good! but hopefully everything will be running smoothly when i get her back!
(Though the gearbox is still probably fubar'd)
updates when i know more!

New bulbs £2 from halfords per pair
- Front Headlight (morettes) Not fitted correctly and not pointing in correct direction

yeah was thinking of taking it to yours for an MOT this year when i thought about decat (which i still am)
they're STILL working on the car today, this is the 3rd day theyve have it and still havnt given me a proper price or what theyre ACTUALLY doing!
its a bit of a piss take. i was told yesterday that to fix the morettes is an HOURS labour, so £30 for me.
will update when i know, i was told by my mechanic mate that it should be done today.

the badgers wishbones are still on the badger. i would take them off, btu if i do then its going to make getting rid of the shell a pain. But i was thinking of taking them off, respraying and forking out for some solid front bushes you and lippy have.
but we'll see what the garage says when they finally get back to me.
on another note adz, dunno if you read the previous page at all, but iv now decided im prob going to drop a VTR engine in, if you got a mo can you ask marc how much he'd charge for a 1.4-1.6 8V engine conversion?
dont worry if you dont get a chance, but want to know roughly so i know how much to budget. thanks

your garage are taking the piss i feel bud! and if i remember correctly you have had the same sort of thing in the past!
need to cut them out of the equasion if they come back and try charging loads! if you ever use them again then ask for a written quote including everything that needs doing and all parts involved that way bill cant climb when they say oh yeah you needed this part so thats an extra £200 etc... they would have to pay out of the quote earnings or call you and get authorisation first for more costs....
When they come back with the final quote post it up or txt me, id be interested to see what they say!

well i immediately thought it was cat, but the garage seem to think not. the lambda was way out but apparently thats because of the blowing exhaust!
they did say though that there was no gasket between the down pipe and the cat! did you know that?!

any little jobs like that i dont mind doing m8, the price u r forking out with that garage is stupid, everything can be done easy enough, including rebuilding engines lol, u have my number, dont hesitate to contact or ask kk.
