adjusting tappets on an 8v is part of a major service ,so to fit another cam without adjusting tappets ----???????????????????
to even change a head gasket and not adjust tappets after refitting rocker shaft is unforgivable.

i think you need a feeler gauge and you slide it through the tappets and tighten it or loosen it to the correct spacing, apart from that im not much more help lol you'll have to let me know what the 1.1 is like when its running properly

Take the rocker cover off
Use feeler gauges to check the tappet gap's
If they need adjusting losen the nut, turn the small alan key until the feeler gauge gets a tad stiff to pull out, you only want a small bite it MUST still be able to move about just not stupidly free.
Tighten back up the nut make sure alan key part dosent move though
Do this for all tappets - as said inlet - 0.2mm exhaust - 0.4mm

you probably wont use the standard gap for a reprofiled cam. will be best to check with autosprint the tappet gap to use. always do it when engine is cold aswell.

There's a good guide in the haynes. Another one here.

As williams has said, I doubt a re-profiled cam will use the standard valve clearances. What 'spec' is the cam after re-profiling?
