I have had this mini at home now for 18months approx and have decided to tackel it this summer before uni starts again. Its a 1993 mini with a 1275 heart and manual gearbox . There is a lot of plans for this but i will be updating regularly so people can see etc. All that i will say atm is it will be stripped ready for a full respray shortly, including engine bay.
Heres what it looked like this morning before i began;
Tbh this car is in really solid condition as it is so its a great base to start with, it even had 10months mot on in when it was sorn by me.
Last week i went to huddersfield to look at some parts etc to start me off and ended spending a little more than planned but hopefully it was worth it. One of the items i bought were these
They are brand new 13 inch by 7inch wide superlight extremes, the extremes have the bolts within the design of the spokes. They are also all wrapped in new dunlop rubber.
To start off the day i tried getting it running but it appears i have a duff battery so will be getting a new one tomorrow from work. Then i set about fitting the adjustable suspension at the rear which went quite well and got the stance right with the new rims. I also fitted the front wheels and mocked up all four arches (sorry no pics ). The old standard arches were also removed, anyway heres the pics. I forgot to take a pic of the car from the rear, its does look as mean as fook
I am a little dissapointed in my progress today but it was raining constantly all day so i think i did ok.
please comment guys

nice, im jealous
engine wise it will have a fast foad cam kit, 3-1 manifold, twin webber carbs, 1.5 ratio high lift rockers and stage 3 head if money permits.
edit: forgot to mention tomorrows aim is to have front adjustables fitted and set. fingers crossed get it running. and to hopefully fit all four arches.
all depends on the weather again tbh

ive gotta buy myself one of these, my brother has a black mini, spent thousands on it, he took the engine out to re build, sent the straight cut gearbox off to be refurbished, never put the engine back together, never picked the gearbox up and left the shell the rust on our drive, this was 7 yrs ago lol still have thousands of pounds worth of mini part lying around, he wont get rid of it cus he knows the moment he has it scrapped he will have enough money to restore it and will regret it lol

did a bit more work yesterday on the mini again, firstly i got a new battery and had a go at getting it running and it didnt so i had to look into it. I had good spark in all 4 plugs and there was fuel getting to the carb. I then looked at the choke and found the mechanism to be siesed. So a bit of freeing off and elbow grease and the mini ran once again after been stood for ages . sounds beasty too
after this i proceeded to fit the adjustable front suspension and get the front at a good ride height. I then gave the car a spin round the field and all gears worked well and brakes were good too . Now i know everything works i can now get it stripped knowing there werent any problems before i start.
The rear was only 1inch from the body from monday and i had to riase it to make it more usable so i set about that. Then i properly fitted the rear arches using a dremel to make them fit perfect.
I was going to fit the fronts but i am not 100% happy with the conditon of the wings, since i am respraying the whole car i think it would be better to fit new ones as i dont want it going to the bodyshop shorty after it has been on the road to get th rust worted if it came through. Hence i shall be trying to get a pair of wings ready for next week.
anyway heres the pics
the vts joing in this one a little
overall i am happy with the ride height of the back, the wheels fit the arches very nicely imo and the width is just right
please comment guys
