But it's still got a turbo. I'm not saying it's a poor choice or anything, I'm merely saying the VTS lump is not that bad!

I know your not looking for an argument but IMHO a vts engine doesnt deserve much credit at all really.
Also clio RSi's are restricted as standard to 110bhp, simple bit of fettling (intake and exhaust) sees them cleanly at vts pace
It just seems to me you ahve to spend stupid money on a saxo vts engine or ITB / turbo it to see decent enough gains for a return on your money!

as i said before, if glanza's are better, why are there not many higher powered glanza's, in comparison to people who build gt's??
GT's are for men, glanza are for people making the transition, who then eventually aspire to buy a GT haha

LOL at the glanza twat that has come over here.
You have posted about 5 of the worst possible chav cars ever, I could probably find a standard glanza(micra) looking equally as shit.
Nobody is preaching how amazing saxo's are here infact you will find that most owners have other cars aswel. The sheer fact you had to register over here to argue you drive the best car in the world is hilarious in itself. Run along now

I think i just loled at the glanza e-warrior
Cant honestly tell you how many people slag off glanza's, especially girls and they see one sitting at the traffic "how ugly is that" "eww, how cheep does that look" tbh i do think they are nice.. but not pulling anything (not even a fat chick) in one, for the money, id get something a little more... reputable.
my VTR against a glanza gave it a run for its money, guy showing off to his girlfriend in his glanza, turbo spooling like fuck, and falling back behind, although thats my mate driving my car and me watching lol, neighbour has 2 of them, has a GT and a glanza, and his glanza isnt that quick either, the GT is a little nicer and has allot of work done to it.

Had to have a little giggle at that, Saxo's have a rep too!
Personally I'd go for the Saxo, far less dated looking, gonna be far less problematic (hopefully) and will be a hell of a lot easier to cope with. Turbo engines that aren't maintained regardless of cost end up bumming your bank account senseless.

if youve got a saxo owner bank account indeed, i mean, a second hand engine and turbo is £400, man you could get 3 saxo vts's for that.

a saxo is shit
a glanza is shit and is basically a micra with a sneezing problem
a r5 turbo is just an unreliable shit box.
conclusion, only a teenager would want any of these cars as they are so badly built that they weigh nothing and go 'ok' for a little hatchback. anyone a little bit older and sane would get a decent car and if they wanted a performance car they would buy a fast car to start with that is properly built.
oh how i kick myself for doing what i did to my vts

yeah im the same i regret every penny i spent on my saxo, yeah it goes OK 130bhp and handles well billies b8, but still uber slow and boring, save up and get a proper car ie scooby, evo or something nice with huge amount of potenial out of the above though R5gtt all day long as they old school cool and can be made into a right little hand full
