picked up some alloys yesterday, need a tire for one of them, and a good refurb, but should look pretty sweet, just wondering to go black, graphite grey, or silver :/

nah, the plugs are colour coded, all the black bits come off apart from the ciggy lighter, theres a guide in the how to threads, need a premium membership though its not hard to work out.
just make sure you leave it a good day or so before putting it back in, i fucked it up twice being impatient

well.... heres how my poor stella is looking right now...

Now, i dont know how many of you saw the thread saying i crashed. so to sum it up, it was dark, damp, and id just missed a turning. i was more focused on turning around than the road ahead, breaked for a corner, changed to 4th, weas going about 40-45 at the most when i realised it was alot sharper than i thought, and the car went straight off, towards a tree, and i was only just able to get it to land sideways on the verge of a ditch. (waits for comments calling me a twat etc... i know, and believe me, ive learned from it!)
So anyway, ive measured the chassis between the legs from the back, centre and front, as well as under and over the legs at the front, and havent found anything that suggests its twisted or bent. The only way ill know for SURE is when i get the new crossmember in, and take it for a drive.
Also, the lambda sensor in the exhause was pulled out, but took some of the exhaust around it out too. Luckily, i can weld, so this is getting fixed tomorrow, and the crossmember next weekend.
Up to yet, the crossmember and spot weld drill bit have cost me £22, and all i have left to buy is a new fan and bumper.
The good news however, is that if it all works out well, i can get new gear linkages (mine has excessive play when in gear, not bad enough to really worry about, but worth fixing while its off the road) and when i get the new bumper sprayed, unless i find one in my colour code, then i can get the other bits that annoy me fixed too.
Plans after this, are lowering, smoked lights (might go for clear jewelleds now), smooth boot, and eventually some better alloys.
Still have some ideas, but theyre going to cost quite alot and i just dont have the time or money yet!

Ive got a spoiler already mate, im getting the bootlid its on fixed and smoothed
Went to the scrappys today, found a posi blue one that had a decent front bumper i could spray and use. Asked the bloke how much, he says 'can you take it off?' i said sure, piece of piss, so he goes 'well then get it off and any other parts you want, ill make sure you get a decent price on it.
So there i am ripping this front bumper off, took the fan housing and lights off too but left the lights in the car, then went back for a price. Different bloke comes out and goes
'£40 for the both mate, and £80 if you chuck the lights in'
'fuck that mate, i already need to sand out the scuffs in this, get it resprayed and fit the lot of it to mine'
'well the bumpers are normally £40 alone'
'and ive just spent the last half hour ripping this shit off there for you'
'£40 mate, youve took it off now'
'well you can keep it for that, ill give you £60 with the lights, or you can go put it all back yourself'
'fine'
Fuck him, irish cunt, the bumper would have needed filling and reshaping for the scuff it had in it, and you can pick them up for £20 off here anyway, and i know a few scrappys down south that i'd probably pick one up for free if i can get down there.
Walked out, mum just goes 'no good? so we've wasted our time?'
i get in the car and just go 'nah, pockets aint empty cuz' (she didnt get the quote)
So for half an hour and an argument in a scrappys, i got all the screws and bolts i need to fit another one back on, a saxo owners manual, and a fuse box cover for the inside that i've needed for a while... not so bad then :L
Oh, went into the one further down, guy in there seamed a decent enough bloke, wanted £50 for a decent bumper, fan and rad if i found one, but they only had a silver vtr that was the OTHER silver, so the fan was no good, the rad may have been alright but i didnt bother, and i figured the bumper would look out of place... can always go back though

yeah it was traynors, dont get me wrong, ive been doing scrap myself most of my life, i know they like to earn the extra money and tbh, if it was a decent bumper, i wouldnt mind so much, but it was scratched to shit!
Clarks had a silver vtr with a mint bumper, but it was the wrong shade (not a big deal)... but i thought id leave it because without the arches, itd look silly.
Then, got home. ebay. Brand new 1.1 front bumper, primered, from a citroen dealership selling old stock, £25. Bang tidy.
