so, a random chinese rang you and said "we need a delivery driver. can you do it?" you just said "yes"
didn't ask details etc?
seems a bit stupid imo. basic conversation would usually intail asking basic info regarding the work & pay etc!
EDIT - tips. drive as economically as possible!

Yeah.. it horribly invalidates insurance so either keep it mega hush hush or declare it.

Ive done this before for a pizza place. was making about £5.50 an hour then tips and delivery money on top.
Used to get between £10-15 on average on top of wages.
If you can put in say £20 fuel and it last you for 3 nights worth of delivering then you are good as should make enough to cover that and some left over.

Also check they cover your insurance otherwise you arent insured on a standard policy.

£5.50 + tips, less fuel seems awfully low!

Can imagine you would use more than £15 in petrol, or did they make sure he wasnt out of pocket?

This was when fuel was under a pound. I used to put £10 in and would last me 4 week nights delivering and then another £10 in for the weekend.
Made £50 in tips one night alone, then all delivery money ontop. Some places were £1 to deliver to others were £1.50-2.50.
I think it was about 2005 so everything was less.

I used to do this very regulary.
I used to get £5 a hour + £1/ £1.50/ £2.00 delivery money depending where it is.
Average night you make around £45. On Average, you can easily wack on 65miles a night onto the car. You're car will stink of grease for a week. Tips weren't the best as everyone in Bedford lives in a Shit hole and are poor cunts.
Be very careful, chinks will do anything to make money. Even from there own drivers. They will expect you to take them to the shops for 'ingredients' yet wont offer you to buy you a drink why they are in there or give you a few quid petrol money.
It gets boring driving the same route every 10 minutes and then working 3 / 4 hours a night instead of 6. Oh, nicking a pack of prawn crackers to eat while your driving isn't allowed, but you don't eat your dinner till around 11pm when they are a bit quieter.
IMO, not worth it. Wear and tear on your car + high miles... I wouldn't recommend it.
