Last words to me where . He is the only one who would be in his group. So he is gonna build a turbo vts and race it in the next group up. He was told a renault 5 turbo will bolt straight in to the flanges of the vts manifold and down pipe...... I said good luck

He asked the right questions. He got told the right answers then just done the oppersit. ... then moan and butched when it all went wrong and it was every body elses fault.
Ross. Do you remember when he bought a welder from aldi and asked if he could cut the yellow plug off and put a normal house plug on it. Further questions resulted in finding out it was an arc welder and he was gonna weld his inner wings with it

Exactly. I really felt for him (only got to read back through the thread to see I honestly tried to guide him right) but like you've both said just listened to people, then basically did the opposite or ignored all advice.
I still feel a bit sorry for him as above - he's trying to have fun and make something of his passion. Just wish he'd go about it better

Can only try so much. But it was the "we" this and "we" that. Did piss people off. Why not put it as I wanna start racing please help. But he had this idea of trying to sound big and a team and shit would help. It just backfired.

why didnt he just build a car and stick to doing track days? Then once better at that get into the racing side of it?
Or better yet ask one of the teams out there if he could tag along to learn the ropes so to speak, not doing the driving but being around people who know what they are doing when ti comes to racing these little cars and how to do things properly.

Cos he wanted to be the " big I am". A racing driver...... who has never raced in any class or any type of motor sport in my life. But I will be in touring cars in 5 years... clock started 2 years ago. And still not even done his ards
People did try and help. He got loads of advice and then ignord it and went the oppersit way. Then carried on with the bollox of it all with speaches about come and watch you will be gob smacked. He made a dick of him self long and short of it.
