Default Noise when engaging clutch

Hi guys,

I've got a T reg Saxo VTR. During the last 2 weeks I have noticed that when I press down on the clutch to change gear, I get this whirring noise. There's no crunching or anything like that and I'm still able to change & select gears ok. There's no loss in drive either.

I have also noticed as well, when I drive the car for at least 6 miles without changing gears, it temporarily "fixes" the problem, until when I hit traffic & have to change gears more often.

Any ideas?

Clutch release bearing could be on the way out or noisy. Mine can be heard inside the car (it is stripped out though) and it's a brand new Valeo one

Mines chirped away for at least six months. Never had a problem.
