And they're noisy as hell with no interior, hear every annoying rattle/squeek but extra loud! Cams & remap and leave well alone I think personally.
My old car, Brembo 4pots, cams, stripped = very twitchy rear. So much so when I outbraked a CTR, rear bounced out and ended up going round a corner on a 90 degree angle. Looked good, but boy did I shit meself! Safe to say the next day I had an interior again... Lol
|
Ye I defo think your right mate after thinking about it cheers for the advice

Did I see you still had the spare tyre in? Get rid! If you can save 50kg on a car that weighs 935kg it's like gaining 8bhp assuming your hp is around 135bhp- well worth it IMO if you don't use the rear seats etc...
|
Might just strip it out for track days mate but not all of the time.

seats out, sure thing it wieghs abit less but tbh how much do saxo rear seats weigh? not alot. any you said replace with a cage which min is 19kg from an omp one. so defeats the object of that.
the only way to do it is properly go the whole hog with it but then you are in essence destroying a very nice car and to strip one properly and go lightweight cost money.
it will be a very quick car with the cams ect in see how you like it with them in first, if you still want it to be quicker change the 'box then strip it.
oh yeah thanks for letting me know about c/w
|
Ye you have some really good points there mate cheers. I need to book in with CW's soon.

Cams are now fitted!!! Hears some pics and that.
Left my camera at work so the valeters thought they would take the piss lolz
Hears some pics of the old cams in
Then they are out
Then the Newmans are in
Then the timing belt fitted, apparentley it had the timing belt replaced already which is suprising as I bought it with 42000 miles on.
So its all up and running now and it feels so quick throught the revs and it just needs remapping.
Also bought a nissans radiater to try and improve cooling

Cams will be awesome! Bet it has a really bouncy idle unmapped.
Id keep the interior if I were you, sooo much road noise and lots of other little noises when it's bare metal especially if you use it everyday.

Ok so the car is now booked in for the remap on Wednesday at Chipwizards so today I started getting the car ready. Cooling is the main thing so I fitted an extra fan and my nissens rad.
Hears the new radiater compared to the old lol
twin fans which I got sprayed white
Then I thought I might as well give it a full service so it was new spark plugs
Then I changed the oil and filter
and replaced the fuel filter

Wish my wheels were as mint as yours- I managed to t-cut mine down to the metal in places trying to get rid of annoying marks
