hello bud, the car went really well this weekend at combe. the difference from the bodies to the turbo now, there is no comparrison. overtaking out of corners is so much better as it has bucket loads of torque. it was only 2 racing minis that got buy us all day(30k a piece) and we clocked up 141 miles. the only prob we had was the welds on the inlet manifold cracked so got to get that sorted. apart from that its a big thumbs up for the car and cant wait to get out to spring action day at combe in april!.
cheers

The solid mounts are really good on the track to be fair, you notice them on idle a lot but soon as your on the gas they smooth right out. the difference is amazing as the response from gear changes is so crisp, i think tho they have contributed to the inlet cracking so gonna have so swap them for some group n ones with some rubber just to soak up some vibration(not happy). Those mounts would be fine on a track car with bodies or a turbo with a standard inlet but with my alloy plenum i think its always gonna put extra vibrations on it and alloy and vibrations dont mix. The solid mounts are going to be up for sale i reckon!!
On a positive note, spring action day and japfest are booked for track time to go give the car some more stick!. Cant wait.

Where did it crack?
Roughly how much does your plenum weigh?
Are you still using the little allen nuts that Jenvey provide to hold the trumpets on? Aren't they hard to get to with the plenum so close?
I'm looking at going with a plenum so just trying to scope things out

Hadn't noticed this before and just read through the whole thread. Have to say thats an awesome project you have done. Must absolutely fly and you have done it for relatively cheap for what it is which is impressive!
