Few questions in relation to items mentioned a n00b in this thread:
I know that the standard pulleys are adjustable, but isnt there an advantage of a lighter
weight adjustable pulley? Or is it a waste of time bothering?
Also, if you ever needed your head skimming due to it being warped. Your saying that having
it skimmed may mask the issue but mask it worse later one?!
Im so uneducated with regards to cars man. Cheers Ry bab.

nah, what he means is, if you skim too much off your head in the 1st place. then at a later date if your HG goes and the head warps, there wont be enough material left on to repair it.

Ah right I see. So in that case a brand new head is needed.

rushy, standards being adjustable for cam timing is all you need. The only reason to upgrade in 99% of applications is due to the original pulleys not having the ability to adjust the cam timing with (8vs for example)
Re the head, as williams has said. The head doesnt have an infinate amount of material on it, so if it gets skimmed for no reason there is a higher chance in the head being written off if it gets warped through *for instance HG failure* as there is not the material there anymore that could potentially be removed to have a perfect head face.
make sense?

why they allways say, if it aint broke dont fix it.
Its ok to write off a standard head but think if you have had extensive headwork you dont want to be skimming bits off willy nilly and risk a long term loss.
