I don't get this whole "id kill myself if i got a bike".. No you wouldn't.. I, with most things, am a fucking idiot.. Yet i get crossers, and go up on the moors, with shorts and tshirt, and no helmet, and I've never once hurt myself.. You get on a bike, and become loads more aware of what you're doing.. People manage to drive cars without crashing.. Same deal on a bike.. Don't always have to go flat out do you..

My worry would be more about other motorists. I've seen how people cut me up etc when I'm in a car, fuck that shit on a bike.

I'm all for off roading though, fuck yeah.

Even that.. You are aware enough in a car, to see someone is going to cut you up.. So surely you would still see it coming on a bike, and have better brakes, slow down faster, and be able to move quicker..

I don't accept the "id kill myself if i had a bike" argument, as an acceptable excuse!

you are at more risk on a bike than in a car

I think he came to that conclusion all by himself..

But people say they would kill themselves, not be crashed into

Plenty of nippers down here killing themselves on bikes. I would push myself to the limit on a bike and thats how I know I would end up causing damage to myself/others.

You wouldn't though.. You would ride at a safe limit.. You don't go into corners at 120 in a car.. Because you know you will crash and get hurt..

But my car isn't built to do those speeds. A bike almost invites you to go fast, You have no distractions and because you have the power there you wont just rumble along doing 40, I can do that in a car!

Don't talk wet, its rare people would put themselves in life threatening situations.. Your brain has a built in self preservation.. You don't see Porsche drivers doing tripple figures everywhere.. Just as you see the majority of bike riders don't nail it at 100+ everywhere, they simply cruise at 80-90, because they can, and can get past traffic quicker.

It's entirely different mate.

If you have any sense it's likely you feel more vunerable on a bike.

So the opposite of what everyone says they 'reckon'

I'm worse in the car..

Because you know that if you fuck up - it's going to hurt, so you can only play when the conditions allow, i.e no traffic, decent weather, no police scamera's about..

At least that's how I see it, do you all have no self control?

I think we would use bikes for different things. I would not buy a bike for a daily commute, pleasure ride. If I got a bike it would be something performance orientated that could achieve speeds I couldn't in my car. I honestly see no other purpose for them. And you still cant legally cruise at 80-90 anywhere in the UK without breaking the law and travelling too fast for the roads.

What do you mean by play? open the bike up to its full potential. Thats great if you can be 100% sure there isn't a tractor/cyclist/horse round the next blind bend while you have your knee down doing 75. Yes, I have self control, but I know I would want to push and use the power of the bike. And there is nowhere you can do that unless its on a track.

You sound like an absolute fucking moron!

I wouldn't have to die to be fucked. Fall off and damage my knee would put me out of work. No work, no money. No money means no house. I also have to put my girlfriend before my toys.

Accidents happen. The fact you were born proves this!

Grow the fuck up!

Might not be legal, but whitby to middlesbrough, i can easily do that road without dropping under 60.. No problem at all.. And from guisborough to whitby.. 20 miles, easily done in a car without dropping under 80..

I would never buy a bike for a commute, id buy it as a toy, which i have done with crossers.. Just because it goes faster than your car, doesn't mean you would perpously put your life on the line.. Just because you had a bike that could do them speeds, doesn't mean your suddenly going to try and do impossible speeds round corners, does it..

If you got in a Ferrari Enzo, you would'nt suddenly start hitting corners at 180mph would you..

Yeah but what I'm saying is the only time I would take it out is to go fast, the roads round me are great roads but bikers come off alot round here. I know if I was to get on a powerful bike I would put myself/other people in a situation.

If I had a supercar I would definately push it to its limit. But on a track.

Typical school boy, but back in secondary school, I had a mate once who's Dad had a phase 1 Mk1 Laguna 1.8 while my Dad had the phase 2 Mk1 Laguna with the 3.0 V6 lump in it. Guess which one he thought was quicker...

My area has just has speed humps put in after two accidents more or less outside my house (1 fatal). Cars slow down for them now but it doesn't seem to stop the clown on a Ducati 1099 from doing silly speeds down there. All I'll say is more fool him when he hits something, and god help who he hits

Firstly, nice insult.

Secondly, so would everyone, there's this thing called insurance and loss of earnings. Not that I'd ever want anyone to have to go down that route, just sayin'.

If your worried about riding a bike, the best thing is not to.

So, I don't give a fuck.
