I just read your thread on GC. Its so annoying when things go wrong like that! I also really like STD bonnets, they set the rallye off tbh.. Yeh get some photos up! love checking out other rallyes gives me inspiration!

To be honest i dont find the front end being smoothed as annoying as the rear end, which is why i bought the gti boot with spoiler and standard lock

Ah mate! Sorry to see the bad news! But great choice in getting the Nimrods/Ouragans, and even better sprayed white! I miss my set loads! Nothing sets off a 106 better than these!

Thank you! Bit of a state atm though :/ I wouldnt worry about thier age tbh, mines got very minimal rust/problems... people seem to take very good care of them. I got mine for 1600! so dont be fooled by the massive price tags get them down. The bloke who i bought them off tried to sell my car for 2500 for about 4 months before i came along lol.

ah right cheers thats another thing thats puts me of the price, £2500-£3000 for some with 120k on the clocks! i'd be happy with one for £1500, even if it is a shitbox, be a nice project to get back to original condition
btw what the mileage on yours? seems in very good condition if it is high

Yeh I woulnt pay anymore than 2k mate. I bought it for 1600 and it had 130k on the clock, I think it's been round the ring a few times aswell. But yeh the shells in very g condition for it's age. I have now put a new vts engine in
It now anyways with 44k on the clock! Took the engine
Out and there was no rust anywhere

mint car for that price, just finding the right one though, do you need to do any mods to get the jp4 engine to work? like isnt the inlet abit different or any loom splicing? guessing you kept the rallye gearbox aswell?

Sad to read about the kurb damage mate. These things happen though. Atleast you have a very fresh front end on the car! Wheels should look good. White on white always goes well in my eyes!

Yeh it is in very good condition. Ermm i got a C2 VTS engine and i had to have a loom from a 106 gti made in 1998 other than that, you need new fuel lines and throttle cable and your away. Oviously if you bought a full converion it should include that... I didnt have them but we bodged the fuel lines and made a make shift throttle cable untill we buy a new one which is when i come to fix the car this time round
