I planned balck angels a while ago but have slowly gone off the idea, i prefer the oem look and i think angels realy draw away from that, its all about the look lol. But they do look quite nice. Maybe just a hid upgrade on mine for the time being.
Thanks for all the good comments guys keep them coming

hmm, been thinking today about whats next for mr n.
Want to move onto interior as wheels and brakes are fine for the time being. Here is where i want to take a few ideas from the euro scene but not go down that path if you know what i mean.
I could easily splash out on a plush install and retrim but thats not what this project is about. I keep saying to my self OEM+, the message im trying to get across is that a good car can be made without spending money on labour and having a pop yourself. I dont want this car to be standing out from the crowd, just blending in with some nice touches. Likewise im not out to capture any trophies, far from it, im making this car for me and doing the "style" i like.
Just some simple stuff which adds to the look and gives a quality feel. How does this sound:
Momo 280 wheel (euro inspired)
106 leather as you do
Re-trim the doorcards, Dash, boot build, headlinging
Black pillars with tweeters
gearknob and handbrake as you do also
regards
Sam

Suspension has been done!
Well the rear torsion bars need to be put a tad higher but im happy with it for a days work. Also we decided that putting rear beam bushes on may be a job for another day as it was getting late by the time we got round to them. No pics as of yet as there still on camera. Front is up to -25mm (doesnt look far from standard tbh).
Took it out for a drive and firm isnt the word. More like solid! Bumps are a bit of a issue but it goes round the twistys like its on rails. so pleased with it! Really really good set up
Pics later or tommorow, depends how long im at work for.
********Edit - sorry for no pics yet, just been out enjoing it. God its harsh though, not reccommended on road going cars (which this is) but im trying to convince myself its worth it. Rather than taking it all off again to fit softer spings and dampers and getting ride quality back again.
Not sure what to do with it as i want the inside to be a nice place to be aswell but is it going to be too harsh now? i dunno what im gona do*******
Thanks again for reading, comments welcome as allways
Sam

right here the pics of fitting the suspension:
Papa mr_n at work

Spax springs before

Damper tool? Nah mole grips will do

See...

Pugsport in

And tightend

Wishbone bush

Got it out using impact hammer, socket, long bolt and held the bottom of the bolt with impact hammer on high Worked though

Spax Spring compared to new falkner 225lb ones

Lower brace catches on works car wash, Wont be going in there again. (note red paint left by me)

New ride height, torsion bar will be reset the weekend
Handles amazingly well, but is very harsh on british roads. Keep telling myself its worth it though. Will be using this setup for a number of months and determining wether it will be better to sell them and get a more comfortable pair of fronts. Dunno yet but they are staying for the time being. Unless i get a very generous offer
Next on the agenda is interior, looking for a mint set of 106 leathers, 280 wheel and am speaking to a high member of the retrimming and audio society at this very moment. A final decision will be made at fcs when i meet up with him in person. Anyone guess who im talking about?
Thanks for reading, comments are very much welcome as allways
Regards
Sam

Front end is higher mate. -25 mm instead of 40 before. Springs may be shorter but they are alot stiffer (like 100lbs stiffer) so when the cars weight is on them they dont compress as much as the spax did.

I not re-trimming the seats, keeping them oem and doing some special bits to the doorcards/boot/headlining. Maybe.
tbh ive been thinking and may make the suspension the last major mod to mrn before it goes to be replaced by something euro.
Will do the seats and soundsystem definatly (comps and amp them at least, really unsure wether to run a sub or not yet dont want ot put alot of weight on the rear), Then a 306gti6 brake upgade with vts wheels, then think about letting her go to a new owner sometime at the end of the year.
EDIT: No its not ben

Good progress man. That suspension setup sounds spot on. Just need some sexy light weight wheels now
