Ahh well, fair one, i know nothing on that hand.. Still can't see em releasing games on xbox, months and months before they do on playstation.. Just won't happen.
I still think most of the stuff they are doing is shit. If it needs an internet connection permanently, and all this stupid no second hand game things, I'll be jumping ship, as long as Sony don't follow in MS stupid ideas

Right, details have been announced.
You CAN trade in games IF the publisher allows. NOTHING to do with Microsoft
Microsoft Studios will enable you to give your games to friends or trade in your Xbox One games at participating retailers. Third party publishers may opt in or out of supporting game resale and may set up business terms or transfer fees with retailers.
Kinect is NOT listening to what you say, it's listening for two words ONLY
"If you don’t want the Kinect sensor on while playing games or enjoying your entertainment, you can pause Kinect. To turn off your Xbox One, just say 'Xbox Off.' When the system is off, it’s only listening for the single voice command -- 'Xbox On,' and you can even turn that feature off too.
Now would y'all quit your bitching.

Well good luck with that. I don't see why some device should be constantly on even if you don't need it most of the time.
Don't see the point either in some vocal tech that mere function is to replace the hassle of pushing the middle button on the controller. You pay for that extra bit of hardware and the voice recognition software behind it.
Not bitching, just not buying. Wouldn't spend money on a console then find out if the developers will decide to brick the game or not. Good luck with all those MS proprietary games, and in particular EA games.

Do you work for microsoft?
You really think publishers will allow trading in? As I said, its no coincidence that ea have scrapped the online pass: theyve been possibly the biggest trade-in markets opponent. Ms:"hey mr publisher do you want to allow tradeins?"
Publisher:"do we make any money off that?"
Ms:"no"
Publisher:"FUCK THAT THEN"
You need to look at it from a business perspective, just as publishers will. Faced with a choice which will make them nothing (tradeins) or cost them nothing and garner more sales (not allowing tradeins) its a no brainer. If anyone allows their games to be traded in, id warrant them being shite titles, or average games with stacks of dlc.
I think its funny how xb1s proponents say "the microphone on kinect isnt on, its just listening for 'xbox on'". So its on then.
I just dont dig the thought of a high def, connected to the net, camera and mic combo in my living room.Especially when ms say "yeah you can turn it off but you have to leave it connected. And its still listening". When pressed if you could completely switch off kinect, their pr.mans response was along the lines of "of course, you can completely switch off xbox and kinect. We'll cover more on that later". Ah, the good old plug out the wall trick.
It speaks volumes that ms has cancelled their post e3 press conference, thats normally the best time to woo the journos and build on hype.
I was looking forward to the new xbox big time, but the more details that come out, the less i want it.

No, I don't work for Microsoft.
Personally, what you've mentioned doesn't bother me in the slightest.
Permanent connection. My current Xbox is permanently connected, as will my next one. No issues there.
Trade In: I rarely trade games in so again, doesn't bother me. (Microsoft have already said that any MICROSOFT published title WILL be able to be traded in. So that's most of the big money makers then)
Kinect always listening: Again, doesn't bother me. Why does if bother anyone? Its like the whole CCTV thing. Why are you worried about it of you're doing nothing wrong? Why do you care what they hear?

How about a transponder/tracker fitted in your left bum cheek and retinal scans everywhere you go? Nothing to be worried about if you done nothing wrong isn't it. And of course you can trust MS when they tell you it's plugged in but it's not listening and it's not looking at you.
CCTV/microphone in your living room and it's fine as long as you're a law abiding citizen and you don't perceive the slightest problem about it? The last kinect has technical capabilities to see if you have a manchester united T shirt and send you "relevant" ads. The new system will shut off the console if you have more than 10 mates in the room on terms of "copyright grounds".
What do I care what they hear? If you don't care about your privacy then you deserve none.

To be fair, could you not point the camera at the wall? Or would it just not work like that?

Finally there will be proof of your sexual advances on me.
Oh and I am all for this new Kinect thing on condition that Lauren is to always sit in front of it topless when you are online

Agreed.
I'm not interested in all these fancy gadgets, my 360 is more than adequate for what I want. I was purely hoping for a more powerful console that improved graphics.

And agree with this more.
That's exactly what I was hoping for, but instead they put a load of shite on it that will never get used. All I want to do is play games online and offline, that's it for me, that's what a console should be for

In response to concerns over privacy with its next-gen console, Microsoft has confirmed that the Xbox One and it's all-seeing Kinect sensor can be turned "completely off".
Confirmed on IGN. Happy?
