Did the wheels come with it? If so, why aren't they on it?

Wheels came with the car. The fronts are 8.5j and fit perfectly. The rears are 10j and due to tyre size, the arches sit on the tyres. I'll get two narrower tyres ordered and then they'll be on.

Looks good!
The house in the background looks nice too - no more parking in the street?

Like the car, wheels don't suit though they look cheap on the BMW for some reason

Yeah was going to say the same. Awesome car and looks great sitting on the deck, just doesn't suit the wheels in the slightest

Probably done to death, but old skool classic BBS from the period would look perfect
Or steels with OE trims. Stock and perfect

Car is fully paid for but due to lack of tax, it's staying on hisbl drive until Wednesday.
Wheels are a bonus but they're being sold. I fancy a set of these in gold...
Overall plans are the wheels, air ride and a manual gearbox swap. That's about it to be honest.

Shame about the rust, surprised it's there too after its restoration.

I think some goon has done a terrible job of rolling the arches. They've split the paint and that has allowed it to rust. Nothing I can't sort though.

Not much of an update but an update none the less.
The car has been sat at a friends house while I sort parts. I've purchased a new shock absorber, coilover sleeves plus inner and outer CV boots. Figured we might as well do them all if we're doing one.
The car is currently at the garage having the welding work done. Before that though, we had to clean it and see just how well it comes up.
Comes up incredibly well and the chrome is almost spotless. I love it! The only downside so far is fuel economy. I'm lucky to get 15mpg around town although it doesn't do many miles.

Straight six petrol with ancient slushbox in poor urban economy shocker. I may have mentioned something about this lol.
Looks tidy enough like chap, good effort on getting the welding sorted out sharpish, definitely the best plan! Not overly keen on the Ronal's I'm afraid, but I agree that the Schmidt's don't suit it very well either. I think if it was mine I'd probably be trying to get a set of staggered 17" style 5's on there with a bit of dish and gold bolts, would sit against the green nice I think.
