The birth of Simba 15/05/2011
Well, I'd looked EVERYWHERE to find an un-ragged VTR and not to my surprise; it took a while.. But 2 months later, I found him! (I know most people call cars 'her's but this ones a him ) Browsing on AutoTrader and PistonHeads (as ya do). It popped up, a TwoTone (WOOP) 110,000 miles (Yuck) 2001 VTR. I was hesitant, I really was buuuuut, I phoned the guy up and said reason for sale blah blah blah. 15 mins later i'd arranged a viewing for in the next hour. I finally got to his house in Chelmsford (after getting lost numerous times) and there it was.. Simba . He .. Just .. Looked .. Amaaaazing (Im a HUGE fan of TwoTone). I looked around it, no dents/scratches/tyre wear; I was shocked, this was better than any other viewing had gone.. I asked him to open the gateway up (fingers crossed for no oil to be pissing out of anywhere) -The Bonnet opens- and .. nothing. Absolutely NOTHING! I couldn't believe it.. Could this be the one?? He then said "Want me to take you out in it dude?"; "Does a bear shit in the woods?" I replied .. "Ofcourse I do". We pulled off (Oh yeah forgot to mention the interior is MINT, standard but nontheless it's MINT ) It seemed a lot more comfortable than the last VTR's i'd been in. The roar from Simba was just perfect. I think I've found him I was thinking to myself..
We got onto a little road he called "THE road" (Original eh?) Pfft.. He then goes "I don't normally take "her" (Thinking to myself it's a HIM called Simba) (Then remembered to myself it was still his car ) over 3,000 revs I was like, Dude.. are you for real. He was like yeah but you seem like your interested.. (Bearing in mind i'm sitting there hosting a semi with my tongue on the floor from the beauty of this car ) "Yeah I replied, It's not bad I guess" and then he replied "Not bad?" And .. BAAAAANG he tickled that throttle and WOOOOOSH (sorry for the effects haha) He was an absolute MONSTER of a VTR.. It was standard in an Un-standard way.. Rahhh!
Anyway, we got back to his; I asked to check the history etc etc. I got a hpi check (£21.95 later ) I then put my hands in my pocket and said heres a deposit, dashed 300 in his hand and said, Ill come to pick it up next Saturday big man. Thank you SOOOOO much. He was like "dude, look after her". I replied "dude, it's a him now" - "His new names Simba; hear him ROAR". .. and there ya have it. He was born!!!
Picked him up on Saturday
Heres the handsome one.
Soooo, ideas on low-key mods?
P.S: I'm 18 tomorrow so this is a birthday pressie for myself as I write my first car off, a 1.2 Fiat Punto called Pauline.
Btw all, my names Charlie but; call me Simba.
Nice to meet you all.

Yhyh. Thinking of doing the wheels, black/gunmetal grey(same as bottom tone) and smoking rear and front lights to a legal amount? (Anyone got info on this).
