PRICE LIST!!!
Car - £400
Suspension - £300
Wing Mirrors - £20
Seat - £40
Seat Frame - £20
Harness - £15
BMC Filter - £40
Exhaust - £150
Wheels - £150
Brakes - £80
Service parts - £25
Strut Braces - £35
TOTAL: £1275
Part sold:
Interior - £65
Already had lying around:
Wheels - £150
BMC Filter - £40
Exhaust - £150
Strut Braces - £35
SO... If you include the money I got back from the interior... The TOTAL project cost would be £1215 Which STILL isn't too bad for a car that goes like this does.
Technically, the breathing mods, wheels and strut braces aren't necessary and I only put them on as they were not being used on the VTR. The car would have been perfectly drivable with the standard equipment that came on the car so, as such, I think I can blag a bit and say that I can take these costs away for the purpose of this project?
If that's the case and people agree THEN...
That brings the total cost to - £835!!!!!!!!!!
Even if you argue the wheels and strut braces it still comes to £1020!
Not bad really for a car that came on a trailer and needed some work doing to getting it on the track!
If you want to know... The track day cost in total £135 so at worst case that put the TOTAL cost up to £1350! and that's everything included
Not too bad really. I know the budget was a grand so I went over BUT the extra money is worth it. The car went SO well and felt SO good! and still at the end of the day, I bought, Built and tracked a good quality car for less than most people buy a VTS for!
Either way you look at it... I think I did okay.

Cracking stuff mate, as you say stuff you had don't count towards final cost so I reckon the 800 odd should be your final figure.
Congrats mate you did it.
Bear in mind I will beat you soon........

So much respect for the effort you put in, such a sorted desirable car yet so cheap. Goes against everything we thought we knew

LINK TO ANDROID APP
There is the link to the app if anyone wants to try it out.
The free demo version will only let you do 2 recordings but their is no time limit on the recordings.
You then need to render the video and the datalogger sections into one video. I used RaceRender to do this. Again there is a free version but it limits recordings to 3 minutes and it put the RaceRender logo on as you can see on my videos.
I will at some point be buying full copies of RR and aLapRecorder before I go on the track again!

There is an app called OMP Racing Suite

Tenner but looks well worth it

Cheers Fulch but I'm a Fandroid!
To be fair, the full version of the app I have is only £4 and it can be hooked into ODB2 ports using Bluetooth ODB2 readers etc.
I'll get the full version before I hit the track again. Might even get it and test out whilst driving about for work.
I'll let a few of my mates know about the OMP one though as they've got iPhones and were impressed with the recordings.

Lol, Sorry Rich. Didn't realise! hahahaha
I just upgraded the aLapReorder software that I used. It's WELL worth the £3.99 they ask for it. Plus the guy that did the program check his forum and updates any issues pretty regularly.
Can't wait to try it out again and get more laps done. Hopefully next time we go, the new garages will be up and running and we'll be using the original pit lane. It was a bit better than the old one we used this time.
