Heat with a hair dryer, roll sticky tabs off with thumb/finger, wipe with IPA to remove glue residue.

I did think about that, and petrol etc, but rather not put it on the paintwork.

Not petrol mate, lighter fluid is a very light degreaser and would not damage your paint work at all, it's highly solvent based and evaporates in seconds. I've used proper degreaser on my car (fuck knows what the previous used had used as paint protection (wd40!?) on my bonnet, done nothing to paint work.

I personally would use tarsus but if you don't have any then a hair dryer and some wd40 will do it

tardis is decent, so is AutoGlym Tar remover for getting off sticky crap. Get an MF cloth with plenty of AG Tar Remover and just rub it. Doesn't damage paintwork, just dont forget to wash it well after
