Default amp constantly on?

i am a bit unsure why my amp is constantly on would appreciate any help..
the remote is connected right.. on the headunit i have an acc option which ive turned off and on without effect. currently unplugged the power to turn off the amp but need a long term solution. when i put the headunit into my new car i had to switch over the headunit power cables as it wasnt saving settings.. dunno if this might affect it at all?
cheers for any help.

were there two wires that you had to swop over to get it to save the settings? if yes then put it to the other wire you swopped it with.

my mistake, so its on a switch live cable from in the car? it could be something touching the power terminal to the remote terminal on the amp.

it could also be a stray bit of the wire from the remote touching the power

yeah thats true mate you did.. so ive just gone out to try it and yes dead right pred and qucifer...now one new problem.. due to my own stupidity/laziness/the fact its dark raining and its warm inside; i connected the power up without disconnecting the earth on the battery. now i was screwing it back up perfectly fine and it made a huge spark.. smoke cam out and now im thinking it probably wont work.. ive taken it apart and it SEEMS ok like the coil isnt melted so what are the chances of it still working?

i do not want to try it just for the fact i will be very very disappointed when it doesnt work.. ill try tomorrow when i can be bothered to take the negative off the battery.. why does it spark though? i mean id reconnected it once then reconnected it again why does it randomly blow?
