Redtop Engined cars - Corsas, Novas etc..
Hi Guys&Girls!
This is a thread to discuss redtop engined cars corsas, novas etc dont just be a prick and say they are "chavvy" or anything as equally gay. Lets stick to the subject of talking about the cars! Any of you lot got one?? i think jay has one (kiddyVTS) any idea of performance figures 0-60? i think bhp standard they are about 150bhp. Insurance is a bit scarey though! lol any thoughts/knowledge/experiences of them would be awesome! thanks guys!
PS sorry if this is the millionth thread on these (i had a search and didnt really find that much lol)
Cheeeeeers
Domo!

I've got a friend who does conversions for a living.
At the minute he's got a Corsa C with a VXR engine in, supposedly the first in the UK to be running a 6speed gear box.
He's got a Corsa B turbo for sale at the minute, running at around 300bhp, now that was extremely fast, I know people will say it's not big and not clever, but he goes out to race police, see if they can catch them, which I very much doubt they could!
If your going to do one yourself make sure you do everything right first time, could end up dead if not! Such as reinforcing anything and everything!

redtop engines are very strong! there cast steel i think not aluminium blocks witch makes them strong! thats why people do the conversion. it can take great hammering lol.

redtop engine 152bhp standard will run a 15.3 in standard form in a nova but has to be driven well, flies of the clock no problem also! if you get a c20xe with a coscast head(non porous head developed by cosworth) its always gona be a healthier engine imo
c20 let engines in novas/corsas yes they are mad just need the rite setup for it to grip!

A local lad to me had one. Was filmed going off the clock in quite a short space of time. Was pretty infamous.

The c20xe and c20let tend to be out of higher spec cavs and astra such as the gsi's etc
The z20xe and z20let tend to be from higher spec mk4 astras and vectras.
The link for the lads car i don't know but it's really nice, clean little sleeper!
As for being able to afford it, it really depends, sometimes it cheaper to insure a corsa with a bigger engine conversion than the standard one.
