i no its not the same as yours but i have a K&N and one of my mates suggested pouring petrol through it, they said it cleans it right out

use a compressor (blow air through it), and then pour petrol through, it should clean it (even the compressor is enough)

with piperx you get a spray that cleans it when you buy the filter. i just use that.

Always try and use what the manufacturer recommends, I'd rather have a dirty filter than a f**ked engine!

I've got a K&N 57i I cleaned it a few months ago with the re-charger kit. You rinse the filter under water, apply the cleaner, let it stand, rinse, allow to dry, apply the special oil, allow to dry, re-fit.

Easy peasy.
