Polishes Menzerna Range on here http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polish...re/cat_25.html
or
3M polishes
http://www.cartersconsumables.co.uk/...4_104_201.html
light swirls Menzerna P106FA/ Menzerna P085rd/ 3M Ultrafina On a Meguiars polishing pad or 3m Yellow polishing pad
Medium Swirls Menzerna Intensive Polish3.02 / 3M Extra Fine with Meguiars Polishing Pad or 3M Yellow Polishing Pad
Heavy Swirls, Menzerna intensive Polish 3.02/Menzerna Power Gloss/3M Fast Cut Plus on a 3M Cutting Pad Green or Megs Burgundy Pad
It all depends what sort of car your doing saxo paint is very easy to correct with a light cut to medium cut, if its vag paint you most certain need a medium cut to high cut polish but then have to follow with a lighter cut.

Fuck, sorry mate.. totally forgot.
http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acata...ds-polish.html
There is not much space left on the backing pad so you need to position them perfect mate but other than that they are the best pads I have used by a long shot.
For the red car your going to want a compounding pad and a finishing pad.
Use an abrasive polish to get rid of the swirls and then give it a pass with a light abrasive polish.
Sorry about that man..

Links above i mentioned will fit your makita, which backing plate do you have if it's the one with the machine, get the 3M backing plate off the 3m pads link it's much better.

can i use the 5 1/4 pads on the pc james? 135mm instead of 150mm? just for future reference
ive gone for Ultrafina High Gloss Polishing Pad - Velcro Backed. (YELLOW) Perfect-it III Polishing Pad. 150mm Dia. and Black High Gloss Pad - Velcro Backed. 6" or 150mm.
also got some blue tape, you know how i feel about blue tape James
ive beeen using auto glym super resin and aqua wax, also used some poor boys stuff, cant remember if its wax or polish, let me know james lol that brings the silver up well, anything else i could try on silver cars?
also polish seal wax teh way to go?
elliot - bite me.
for the red one ive gone for the (GREEN) Perfect-it III Compounding Pad. 150mm Dia. not got any cutting compound shizzle yet, do you have any harsher stuff James in your kitchen draws
how do you lot put the compound n that shit on? just the applicator pads?
