1.4 box off a Saxo will be very similar to the vtr box so still good mpg!

hi there peeps!!
im a fresh newbie & the recent proud owner of a '01 gold vtr...i bought it dirt cheap with a massive gearbox failiure with the intention of fixing it & selling it, but iv fallen in love with it so it aint going nowhere!!....i also scoured the 'net for a decently priced gearbox but all to no avail!!....so i just went to the local breakers yard and scored a pug 106 1.4 box for £50 (i had to take it out myself, so if u aint mechanically minded u might wana bring along a mate who knows what he's doing!) and then took the box and my car to the local garage & they fitted it for another £90 so all in all £140 for the 'new' box whitch bolted straight on with no mods!...i have noticed a slight difference with the ratio's but for normal driving its sweet, plus its got a bit more acceleraion!!!!...hope this helps
