Default just a few questions

Rights guys im looking to get an xbox 360 elite, however i have a couple of questions..... 1) Is there any risk of getting the dreaded red ring of death? If so what do microsoft offer in terms of repair and is this cover more than just a year manufactuers? 2) Do you get the hdmi lead?
Sorry if this post is hard to read on my phone.

there is always a chance of the red ring but if you do get it just phone ms and they will pick it up and repair it and they usually give you 1 months gold membership aswell

Not anymore, they stopped putting them in. You just get a shitty standard AV cable. Not even HD. MS are Nob'eds. (Bought an elite 3 week ago)

Yeah, the new consoles come with the Jasper motherboard which is much more competent at keeping the RRoD at bay. Yet this is not 100% it is still better than the original models + you get 3 years warranty on the RRoD.
Hdmi. Same as above.

HDMI cables are not that expensive also might be worth getting the Game warranty (if buying from Game) they swopped my xbox when i got rrod there and then.

Also i believe the later models of xbox (including the elite) had an extra fan built into the HDD to keep it cooler keeping rrod away (not 100% though)

You can help prevent RROD by making sure the xbox is kept cool as possible. Make sure all the in/out-take vents are not covered. Lay it flat, not on its side (because that blocks the main intake). Dont put it on carpet, and dont put the power brick anywhere near to it.

Saw a youtube vid, not sure if thats right, but makes sense.

Also, i bought a 360 elite the other day. didnt come with hdmi lead, or any HD wires.

Theres is a vent at the bottom, but it is not used main air intake contrary to popular belief. The main fans are at the the back and that is the main source of cooling.
