Default 266mm brakes

tryed fitting them today, everything came off my car fine but went to out the new calipers on and the top bolt hole doesnt line up, i assume it needs grinding down, is this normally the case, they are late 266mm gti calipers.

also do the normal saxo bolts fit? only i have the bottom one as tight as i can get it and there is still about 1mm gap.

or can i space it out with a penny washer under the bolt head?

Grind off the bit thats preventing you from putting the 2nd bolt in.

Its a common problem, some types of 266 calipers are fine and the other type requires grinding. There is no problems likely to be caused from grinding off that bit as its just excess material on the carrier and isnt near to anything relating to the function of the caliper so you can't really go wrong

hope that helps

I've used standard VT caliper botls with no issues.

Once everything lines up you should be able to get it very tight, there's more than enough thread on the standard bolts, in fact the correct ones are much too long and would get clogged up with road gunk.

Plus they're a mega gay Torx head fitting.
