I think i read on here before that its best to sand down the rocker cover and use etch primer as it grips on to the bare metal

Just for a better finish

Sorry to thread hijack but is there some sort of special 'thing' to sand down the covers?

Using paper will be ok for the flat bits but what about the awkward bits around where the bolts go?

Mine is red at the moment and I can see it being a right ballache to sand off even the flat bits

Do I have to go right back to the metal then?

Mine hasn't been sprayed using a can, its been done using a spray gun in a paint shop so am guessing its gonna be hard to sand off
