Default standard headunit code?? HELP!!

hey, just sold my standard headunit to someone on here, they received it today and plugged it in and apparantly its coming up with 4 error on the screen..

is this common? is there a simple fix? what can i recommend for him to do in order to fix it?

also does anyone know where the reset button is?
any help would be hugely appreciated!

It's not a problem. It's a feature it's the only security it has. Your going to need to call a dealer and find out what they need to give you the code. Probably the vin number. Oh and what they charge to give you it.

Unless you have the wee card it's written on that should be with the handbook.

Wont matter i dont think mate! The card should have a number combination on it i think, and if not it may be under a scratch off panel(some fords have this!)
So yeah either mail him the number or post him the card!

you should have a 4 digit radio code on the card. This remains no matter what car its in. There is no reset switch to turn it off. If you enter it incorrectly 3 times from memory it locks you out for a certain amount of time. Or just unplug the unit again

mate how will anyone reply on here. If you have had only one standard radio then that code will be right. Just scratch it off give it to me and if it doesn't work then oh well. It won't be the end of the world if I put in that code mate. and I am not spending any more money on a radio that i paid for to be working, not come up with this crappy 4 error.
