Default my non runner project

after i sold the skyline i have been a little bored as ive had nothing to play about with as my other car is pretty much new and its not the kind of car you modify (citroen c1) to make it go faster. so i started looking at cars and found a saxo 1.1 desire for £250. its in good condition with a couple of wee mods. my intentions were just to buy it to strip down ect till i get another skyline but after looking at some of the project threads here there are some cracking wee cars out there so im kind of lost what to do now lol, strip and rebuild for fun, skyline in a year or two, or make it stupid quick its not my daily so i wont need luxiries

its got vtr alloys
tinted rear windows
dont know what the clocks are, vts??
cat back ss exhaust

the guy who sold me it says it has an electrical problem and that it turns but wont start. the batterys flat so i cant confirm this but im not too bothered. i think i caught a possible hint of petrol smell in the oil so head gasket may be gone but i want a bigger engine in, possibly a 306 gti6 if it will fit

as this is my first saxo i know nothing about them so i would love to hear any ideas from u guys and commets are welcome, good or bad and please be patient with me if a ask what may be a daft question to you lol as i know nothing about these cars!!

just to let you know the gti6 engine will only fit with custom parts, the vts engine is the biggest you can go, that will go straight in.

the clocks look like standard ones to me, my housemate has a desire and im sure they are the same as yours, the desire was the highest spec 1.1 you could get so they came with a rev counter, mk2 saxos might all have them actually

also use photobucket to upload your pics and copy and paste the img code to get big pics

thanks for the info mate
ill look into the vts engine, seen a few on ebay going cheap.

hopefully in next few days ill be able to make a start on car and start stripping what i dont need and

can these cars be made to handle pretty decent with its rear suspension set up or would i need to/ can i put a vtr/vts rear beam on?

right started getting bored trying to chase the problem with why its not starting and now ive started taking the engine out for a vtr/vts one.

ive also discovered its been lowered too and that the cars nice and clean underneith.

im not sure to strip and vts lump with nos/turbo and go for track/quarter mile or go vtr lump and replace my daily. so far im thinking replace daily and get another skyline but still unsure
pics to come soon as work progresses

so today ive started taking the front end off the car. im going to prep the car for a respray (what colour i dont know, any opinions? im thinking black or white!!)) and then put vtr or vts lump in. id like to really concentrate on handling too so i will look into whats best to do to the car.

Keep it 8v for a change but it make it a "rare" one if you can. 1.3 rallye or the xsi engines can be made to give a lot of power
