Important! : problem with battery and/or immobiliser??

I know Iprobably need a new alterator as battery won't hold charge, but even when I.put a new baattery in it won't start. As soon as the battery is.connected you can hear a ticking noise inside the car. When u turn the keys once, the noise goes , then when you turn the key again it won't fire up? Any ideas???

probably need a new alternator indeed. If it was the immobilizer you would have an orange key flashing. Do you hear the fuel pump priming the engine or not?
