Bushy90's R53 Mini Cooper S...
Alright boys and girls, here we have my baby.... its a 2004 facelift Mini Cooper S.
The few last pics of the sax are below from FCS, it's currently sitting on my drive waiting to be broken
First of all I have to say that the MCS is a massive upgrade from the Sax, although I do miss the rawness the Sax had to offer.
This is the second one I went to view, the first was an '03 plate in black, it was nice but not what I wanted. I didn't want another black car as they are a pain to keep clean y0!
So anyways onto the one I finally picked, It's on a 54 plate which makes it one of the first face lifted R53's. The face lifted Mini's basically consist of renewed front and rear bumpers, upgraded Xenon headlamps, rear lamps, shorter ratio gearbox, improved interior, Eaton M45 fifth gen charger and best of all 7bhp more and a cheeky BMW map to make it pop and bang on the over run
As standard it handles likes its on rails, I thought the Sax was good with the 50mm Apex kit but this as standard is in a different league. With is being charged it pulls hard in every gear right from tick over till the red line.
Couple of pics below once it had a nice coat of Chemical Guys Wet Mirror Finish and a coat of Dodo Juice Blue Velvet. (excuse the wheel gap)!
So the mods so far are a Fletcher cat back fully stainless system as the standard system had rusted through. This has a nice deep tone and since it has settled on the car does not stop popping and banging.
Also have fitted a set of the JCW brakes on the front consisting of Tarox drilled and grooved discs, M1144 pads, Goodridge braided hoses and AP Racing 5.1 fluid.
To improve the stance for the moment I have fitted a set of KW 35mm lowering springs, I'll let the pics do the talking.
Got some plans which I'll post up at another point.
Rate, slate, hate, masturbate.... It's all appreciated!

Thanks mate, have you done much to yours? The price of mods is much more than the Sax!

Forgot to mention, had my first track session last month at Lyden Hill.
Was a wicked experience and highlighted some areas I can improve the car on, the main one being the brakes as they were shot after the first few laps. Luckily I have the JCW kit which stops it on its nose now!
A cheeky shot of me on track, check out the lowness, this was body roll as it was on standard springs!
One of the interior.
Also some side on-ish shots, will try and grab one at work tomorrow of it level.
And this one just cos I can

Mine is fully loaded from the factory, harmon kardon, sat nav, heated leather and panoramic roof etc.
It does have a reduced pulley and better intake, around 200bhp. To be fair I wouldn't want much more as it scrabbles around like fuck with the traction control off.
Awesome fun. How long you had yours for? As they are shit on fuel, and I just paid today £260 tax for the year! The noise, popping and burbling kinda makes up for it though.

Yup 260 a year is a killer, this last tank I have averaged 32.4mpg compared to the 24.1 last time lol.
Nice spec you have there, mine has the chrono pack, xenons and cruise control. It's amazing how many options there are, even the colour coded dash was an option along with a glove box.
I've had this since the end of June. Bet the whine is nice with the reduced pulley, what size did you go 15% or 17%?
Is the intake a Dave.F?

Yeah I'm the second owner, the first wanted every extra when new - worked out ok for me!
17% alta pulley and Dave.f with k&n panel filter.
I might have to sell it soon due to another baby on the way. I'm going to be gutted and will miss it for sure.

So you should be as well! When do you collect?
This thread is no longer a true representation of the current state of my motor vehicle lol.
It now has aero grill, coilys, 16" alloys with chunky rubber, full interior LED upgrade, custom Miltek cat back, Miltek mani and sports cat, blacked out belt line.
And some more bits to fit that I've been collecting!

Gave the old girl a nice clean at the weekend, consisting of the following:
-Snowfoam
-Rinse
-Wash
-Clay
-Snowfoam
-Rinse
-Dry
-Polish
-Seal
-Wax
-Glass polished
-Tyres and trim treated
Could really do with a machine polish sometime to get the paint work a little better.
A couple of pics to show how she is at the moment, shame it gets dusty so quick!
Look how little it looks compared to the Vectra!
Got some more updates to show later!
Keep the comments & criticism coming....
