Default Saxo 1.0i exhaust system - are these okay?

My 1.0ltr is quite loud thanks to the previous owner, and I can't figure out what's causing it. The whole system on there looks completely standard, but it's giving me a headache! No holes, no blows, no after market air filter, nothing - the exhaust looks standard and is in perfect working order. I think it's either de-silenced, or de-cat'd to make this noise.

In a desparate attempt to make the car as quiet as possible, I'm looking to replace the system. Would these two items fit, and is there anything else I need to replace the exhaust system under the car?

I've tried fitting a standard back box on already but the pipe that the back box fits in to is a little too big, and it feels quite loose in the pipe. So screw it, I'll get both the pipes and back box done.

I shouldn't need anything else, right? I hope this does the trick :/

Any help appreciated!!

UPDATE! I've just discovered that my exhaust is missing the 'Intermediate Pipe' according to Haynes. Mine has a CAT and has a long straight pipe that runs to the back box. I'm guessing that'll make it louder?

Nevermind - found out that I've got a straight pipe exhaust and need a new standard exhaust system to make it sound original. That was the problem.

Well that was a fun time arguing with myself.

/thread.

Your car will have the cat underneath just behinde the sump. Thats all they had from noise reduction aswell as backbox. My 1.1 was the same load but had nothing done to it just got to live with it, good luck though.

I had a 1.0 Saxo I can tell you the issue.
1.0 Saxo's have the cat underneath and they don't have a middle box.

My 1.0 Saxo was loud too, I never got round to it but what I suggest you do is buy a Mk2 VTR centre section (it is all one piece).

It will mean your 1.0 will be decatted but it should be quieter
