Question MK1 single fan convert to dual fan?

hey guys!

was just wondering... is it possible to mount a twin fan to a MK1 westie? im sure there is already a thread on her but couldnt find any.

I was confused as when you look at the stock fan setup, it is BEHIND the radiator, for car show purposes, i would like to make sit infront of the radiator? is it a advantage or a disadvantage? or is it even possible?

any help would be much appreciated!

cheers!

This is what I want to do....you need a mk1 vts rad. As well as fans, I'm not sure if mk2 would fit so to be on the safe side I'm getting the stuff from a mk1.

Vts's only had a twin fan mount, no UK saxo came with two fans so have to bolt a second fan in to the vts frame and then will have to custom wire it up

Mk2, 2001+ Vtr ( 98bhp ) came with a fan mounted in front of the rad, earlier had behind.

If you swop over make sure you fit the correct one or instead of blowing it will suck...

Why go to all that effort? Surely the money and time is better spent on other areas of the car.

You can't do that because the rad you have just got is set more forward....and the housing won't fit. If you look you can see the holes that the twin fan housing sits in. In the bottom slam pannal.Directly under your rad ! Lol

if your using a fan that mounts on the back of the rad be carful what way around you mount it. The fans (wether on the front or back) are designed to send air from the front to the back of the vehicle.
So one on the back pulls air from the rad and fans on the front send air into the rad.
