Clutch fitted price...
Hi
Get this, I've just been quoted £480 to fit a new clutch on my VTR :/
I would do it myself if I had the time
But that price seems extortionate!
Anyone got a good idea of what it should really cost?
Surely not half a grand!

Exactly my theory!
Part I understand is 80-100
Labour on top is no where near £400!

Luk clutch will be around £50 to a garage halfords always over charge that sort of work, best bet is a clutch centre or small garage

i was stupid to pay that tbh ive had my gearbox off more times than i care to imagine but i was totally fed up with working on my car at the time, stupid thing is i had to take the gearbox off a week later to haev it repalced anyway!! grrr but yea £480 is a rip off!

£250 is fair i spose, but its only a 45 min job off and maybe a hour back on they asking £100 odd a hour for labour.

well a decent oem clutch is £100 and then some oil on top so i paid around £180-190 in labour for 2 hours work is quite a lot but hey dont work by charging by the hours its jsut a one off price a bit like tracking, i paid £35 for tracking but it only took them 10min! lol

This is true!
I've been quoted £375 for a refurbished gearbox, LUK clutch and fitting
Sounds like I'll be going for that!
Also reminds me I need to sort tracking!
