Default How to remove tape and tape residue ?

How do I go about removing left over tape and alot of firm tape residue from my car ?

Someone recommended watered down white spirit but I'm abit nervous this would damage the paint work ?

Used some watered down white spirit with a cloth, came off fine.

Then washed over the area with warm soapy water

^ as said above
Sticky stuff remover
Smells like oranges!
Can be bought as a liquid and rubbed in
Or
An aerosol which is sprayed on, then rubbed off
