Default 1.4 Furio - 1.6 VTR Engine swap help

Hi, im just wondering how much hassle its going to be to swap a 1.6 VTR lump (single plug ecu) into a furio with a 3plug ecu?

I have both cars complete. Am I going to have to swap the whole loom over?

I have searched it a bit and found most people just have queried when just buying an engine where as I have a complete car so I can take as much stuff off that's needed for it to work.

Can it be done? Any help appreciated!

Thanks

Or could I just buy a 3plug vtr ecu and use the furio loom?

youve got two main options

fit the vtr engine and use both engine and interior looms (will have to use the mk1 dials)

or chop both chassis multi plugs off and splice the furio plug on to the vtr loom

sure you can just use all the sensors ect from the furio so just rip bare furio engine out and drop the vtr lump in and fit all the furio loom and sensors to the vtr lump?

Some 3 plug sensors are different t to single plug, if you don't know what your doing it can be a pain in the arse

If you just buy a 3 plug engine and unlocked ecu.. Can use the furio loom and its a piece of piss.. Straight swap

Thanks for the replies. Im doing this engine swap on a budget and haven't got time to sell and buy a new one. Looks like im going to have to swap all the wiring over then.

Both cars are phase 2 but the vtr has the single plug ecu. Did they come like this or has it had an engine swap before?

ive never done a plug swap, but having asked about doing it and looked into it, it does seem a piss take for the price of a 3plug VTR engine.
Next day delivery of a 60K vtr lump and ECU for £175 is easily arranged.
