As if its Running on 3 - Vts HELP :(
Basically the night before fast show it decided like it wants to run on 3 cylinders
Checked plugs, they're all spot on, put another coil pack on and made no difference
Idle is fine but it has no power what so ever
It did it the other day briefly for a minute or so then stopped, but today 5 mins after setting off from work it did it again and hasn't stopped
It's also backfiring like no tomorrow too now
Something's wrong

Maybe an injector has gone?
Bit of a pain but I would get the top of the inlet off, pop the fuel rail off and turn it over a couple times to make sure all are squirting.
If one isn't swap it with another that is working so you can check it is an actual injector and not the wiring.

i once snapped a locking wheel nut key with the locking nut still on with a none road worthy wheel on 9pm night before ford fair. I was pretty gutted.
Just the way it goes sometimes.

If it was an injector then it would just run lumpy and judder to about 3k rpm, then run fine
If the coilpacks been changed, then maybe the map sensor? Ali also didn't you have the loom spliced when having the engine fitted? If so then are all the connections and wires in the loom still in one piece?
It sucks when your car goes wrong just before a big day, my boost pipe fell off last year on the way to Trax

right! over night before fast show it sorted it self out! drove there sat fine, drove back sunday fine, drove monday fine till monday night it started doing it again left it over night drove to work fine and back, this morning did it again, but driving back was fine, then tonight it did it again!
it idles fine when its running on all 4! but when it startes running on 3 it'll idle fine but ever few mins the revs will drop, idle lumpy then idle fine again! its starting to really piss me off!
also it seems okay ish until 3k then it gets really noticeable and you can hear the exhaust note "pulsating" if that makes sense?
did a comp test on it today and it was 160ish across all 4, tried a brand new coilpack like said above and no difference, so can it be an intermittent injector fault ?

Check the wiring loom for the injectors in case there is a break in it.

Sounds exactly like my old VTS, there was a break in the injector loom.
Check it.

If its three cylinders it usually sounds like a 'subaru' is the only way to describe it. If it doesn't i doubt its running three cylinders maybe abit lump idle but not smooth on the drive.
Check the wiring to the lambda sensor also take out the lambda and check its all there and clean.
Check the injectors as stated above along with the crank sensor.
Do a reset on the ecu take battery off over night etc.
Good luck.

its deffo running on 3 mate when it does it, its okay for one min on idle then goes really lump, and it is completley gutless to drive and you can just hear by the exhaust note it aint running on all 4
but i shall check them!
