Default Hispec caliper problem

One of my hispec calipers, the threads f***ed on it and ive retapped it but still the banjo bolt comes loose.

The best way of sorting this is welding on a aluminium nut onto it is what i can think of. Dont really want to be changing brakelines for a bigger threaded bolt.

Need opinions on this??

Drill it out and fit a heli-coil to it.
You can buy a kit pretty cheap I think

I did think of that. The inserts arent made of cheese (ali) so better and safer to not end up doing the same again.

Heli coil would be the easiest.

If you had to go up to the next size banjo then hispec used to get there lines made by exact who normaly use reusable ends so you may find that you could just fit a new socket ( banjo ) fitting on the end

May just go for helicoil then. Get a kit ordered off ebay in morning.

I did think about a longer bolt but realised that it wouldnt work due to the holes where the fluid goes through as its only the threads before those 2 holes that are damaged.

speak to hispec, they will sell the rear half of the caliper separately and quite cheaply from memory
