You'll hate me but...
Just got some 6 x 9's. I know i know
But i dont have much money to spend on ice so they'll do for now. Hoping for the components/amp setup later on.
However need a bit of help. How should i go about wiring these up?
I dont want my rear speakers running anymore so i was thinking i could unplug and extend the wire from those? Is this the easiest way?
Help please..

I would say to get a bit of cheap but better quality wire and run that to them from the headunit though mate, the CAD value silver stuff on www.caraudiodirect.com at a quid a metre is what i used, much better than the crappy really thin standard wiring

the positive is usually just a colour and the negative is the a colour with a black line running down them, make sure your get them right, they do work either way you wire them but wired up correctly means they will sound better at a higher volume
i still dont agree with 6x9s but still have to help

I told my unbiased gf to listen to every speaker in Halfords on the display and she thought the 6x9's sounded by far the best speaker. They aren't all that bad if you aren't big on subs. Cars aren't condusive at all for HQ sound anyway so you might aswell borrow the black guy off the McD's advert.

if your going to put speakers in the parcel shelf mount them underneath on a mdf shelf, use some speaker cloth over the holes on top then cover with acoustic carpet, at least that way people wont see them on view

well if you go to auto acoustics you can buy stealth shelf kits
you can also buy the material
the speaker cloth stretches over the top of the hole and the acoustic carpet is there to trim it, the speaker cloth is just making sure the cloth doesnt sag into the hole, if they did sag then everyone would know you have speakers under there from the outside looking in if you catch my drift
