is there anyway to get rid of the cobwebs in my paint
ive got the dreaded cobwebs in my paint all over my car, but my vts is a 98 so it is getting on a little bit. Are there any ways apart from a respray to get my paint looking good again. has anyone had the same problems as me and managed to get rid of them.

a pro machine Polisher is what you want ideally man.
You could have a blitz with some Megs Scratch X but it'll never come out as good as the machine polish

what would the polisher do then?? does it take the top layer off the paint to get rid of the cobwebs and leave fresh paint exposed?? is that what the pc cables do aswell??

I think thats what Ads was on about... Porter Cable... Will make your paint look fresh and new... If done right.
See if anyone off here lives near you with one, and ask them to do your car, obviously give them some dolla for doing it though.

Scratch X is naff apparently, follow these steps dude:
Wash - lots of suds
Clay
Paint Cleaner (Meg's step one and maybe two)
Wash
Use the Porter cable with some Blackfire polish to fill in the scratches
Apply sealant if you can get some
Wax to a mint finish
Will take at least 5 hours+ but if you put the time in cleaning will be easier in the future and the results will prove the work put in, id go for the long haul being a whore and do maybe a few hours for each panel to remove scratches before using a decent was such as poorboys, Zymol or Dodo Juice depending on effects and money you have to spend!
Pics up when done bud

thanx for the help redbullet il have to start stocking up on all the products then find someone with a porter cable thats willing to help. im really glad there is a way to do it without a respray i thought a porter cable just gave a polished effect not taking scratches out. how much do they cost out of interest and how dangerous are they??

I had the same problems on my old motor mate.....tried the Scratch X and T-cut and although they did dull them down i was told that it was a problem with the paint and would need to be flattened and resprayed......hope yours is not as serious

You havent got/Used a PC have you lol It takes me 4-5 hours to clean my car by hand with out doing any correction work....
And you dont use a pc to fill scratches, you use it to remove them.... you can fill them by hand but you will never get rid of them fully

Yea ash is right, basically those "Cobwebs" are what are known as "swirl marks", which are caused by bad washing. Normally inflicted in todays terms by using car washes and sponges (which dirt get trapped in). Then you end up scratching the surface of your paint (normally the clear coat). Then when the light hits it, it causes you to notice these marks, thats also why they are normally round as thats how most people wash there cars, in a circular motion.
Now what the pc does it basically very slightly wears does the clearcoat, so gets rid of these marks. You may think this is dangerous or bad, but then remember there is normally a fair amount of clear coat there. Then you can seal and wax the paint work to protect it from happening again. Although in the long term you will prob need to repeat the process.
