Question 306 GTI 6 discs on VTR?

I have found some 306 GTI 6 front discs and calipers that I am hoping to fit onto my VTR. I believe (correct me if i'm wrong), that standard vtr discs are 247mm and 306 GTI6's are 283mm. If I fitted them along with the GTI6 calipers (which should bolt straight on?), will the increased size be alright?

I also plan to put them under VTR wheels, so will have to slightly grind the calipers down to fit.

Some feedback would be veeeeeeery helpful

Thanks guys.
