A bit of Progress / Parts arriving

Right guys, thought it was only fair to add some pictures to this thread to keep you guys in the loop.

Parts for the Be conversion are slowly being gathered, just a few more bits to get.

Bu hubs machined and stainless shims - thanks to SW Motorsport for doing these for me, top quality work:

The clutch setup has arrived, so the pedal itself, master cylinder, some braided hosing and pipe fittings. Still waiting for the clutch/brake pipe to come, and then will order some fittings for the braided line to go between the chassis and the gearbox.

Plus this is how the engine bay is looking currently - I'm slowly getting there building up a map for the engine, it does feel pretty nippy but not opened it up yet in high revs:

This is the oem external FPR used, it's just a L shaped bracket with two holes in it to locate the holder in, then just a zip tie around it all to hold it in place. The two plastic nipples on the FPR holder held it in the bracket pretty securely, but the zip tie is just to stop it working loose.

This is the L shaped bracket that helps to support the inlet. I had to elongate one of the holes so that it fitted the J4 head properly - it'll line straight up on the JP4 head.

Filter wise I'm just running this old green one for the time being - I just wanted something to stop the engine sucking in bits + I didn't want to buy a filter as the money is better spent on parts for boost.

Vacuum line setup for onbaord 2.5Bar MAP sensor, and vacuum takeoff for the FPR vacuum line. The OEM MAP sensor is installed just to cover up a hole in the inlet that is meant for it - ideally I'd like to fit a bung/plug in it but this works fine for now

Overall I'm fairly happy with it and it seems to be running okay. The only thing I'm currently trying to sort out is it has a sticky throttle cable so just trying to find out a route for it that is best. The spindle on the ATPower TB is in a funny location so has taken a bit of thought but I think I've sorted it out.

Will keep you guys updated.

Thanks mate!

Certainly takes a bit of time to get it running nicely on the new inlet when you are starting a map up from scratch - the big injectors don't help things !

Is good though as you begin to learn about the map and how things affect it etc.

Very much so, the engine just has no noise to it at all now - I can even hear the exhaust a little bit now.

It'll be worth it when the charger is bolted on though.

It's slowly getting there - am beginning to love the S1 box around town but not been on the motorway yet with it.

Be is a work in progress - next step is to get the drivers shaft shortened and mounts bought.

The little mount is a good idea tbh, not sure whether it was installed from factory on the JP4 engines - if it was then I can't see why so many had the inlet studs snap etc.

Think the bracket was an after thought by Citroen. Sure I read that early cars came without it, and they added the bracket when studs started breaking!

A mate had a rallye box and found it to be ok on the motorway for short periods. Autobahns were a bit of a let down with the 110 mph top end lol

Ah that makes sense. I worked out that I had to modify mine due to the inlet placement on the head (J4 vs JP4).

I'll get it on the motorway for mapping cruising and see what she's like

Yeh it does rev more, especially in 2nd I've found but I've not really given it any 'stick' and rev'd it out yet due to the map being 'basic' at high revs and loads for now !
