Hmmmm there are so many things wrong with your statement I don't know where to begin my dear...

First off, learn to spell and use grammer correctly
Secondly, it's your fault that you got pregnant.....you had a choice not to do so!
Thirdly, it didn't cost you a 'fiver for the week', maybe in petrol but add maintenence costs, tax, insurance etc...that fiver soon adds up!

I am not saying Public transport is cheap, it's not.
I am mearly stating that people have a choice when it comes to fronting on thier insurance

If you LIE on your insurance policy, it is void
Just because you 'may' noy get found out, doesn't mean it's not illegal

Your brother is a dick then, fronting is bad enough but having to claim THREE times....maybe he is a danger on the road, espcially if they are own fault claims!!

I have never claimed, have three years no claims and I pay £440 per month as I am deemed a lower risk than a 17 year old with no driving experience

my reply was readable so dont be such a pedantic prick.
i probably had a better education than you.
honestly id rather have 'fronted' my insurance than got public transport to work.
i dont see the big hoo haa with fronting, if you know the consequences then fair play to you for taking the chance and getting cheaper insurance.
if insurance companies didnt make it so impossible for young people to pay insurance than there wouldnt be a problem with fronting
it did cost me a fiver a week actually

the way round fronting for young drivers could be:

get parent to pay for an insurance policy in your name and pay the parent back.

(or in my circumstances, parent brought me my first year car insurance under my name).

i know so many people who "front".

Hmmm barely, it takes the same amount of time with propper grammar anyway
I would highly doubt that but that's another matter

Insurance companies are not to blame, uninsured (or voided) drivers, fake injury claims and boy racer cocks who rack up 3 claims a year in a saxo are to blame

As I explained previously, insurance companies work on risk/benefit system in order to MAKE money and unfortunately due to the reasons above, 17 year old new drivers pay the penalty.

Think about it, the company is there to make money like any business
They have to weigh up the risk of a 17 year old driver, no experience in a car which they have had most of their claims on.....from young, inexperienced drivers!

That 4 grand price at 17 is not to cover the cost of your car in the event of a claim, it is to cover the risk YOU pose in the event of crashing into something more expensive!

My insurance is cheap and thats because I have never had to claim and have had 5 years driving experience
The guy who claims 3 times a year should have to pay more insurance, why not!

why stereotype though
weve got a vast majority of '17 year olds in saxos' on this site, and how many ive crashed threads do you see? not that many! we got hit by an old woman in her mondeo a few weeks ago. anyone can crash and you just seem to have a bit of a chip on your shoulder.
do you work for an insurance company or something?
or youre some old man that didnt have to worry about insurance prices like the ones were hit with

Why bother with any insurance then? The potential consequences are the same and that's even cheaper again.
Would you take out a policy and tell them you have 10 years no claims when you have none? Or make yourself older or say you e had a licence longer than you have? All ways off making it cheaper illegaly

Its a bit sad that your 23 and you can only afford a VTR get a VTS you sad little man
why on earth are you even paying 4 grand. the most it should ever be is 2k TPFT!

personally, if you can't afford to insure your car monthly, you can't afford to drive. i paid my first years insurance (£1600 on a 50bhp fiesta!) out of the rest of the loan i had for the car. i worked full time!

put simply, yes insurance is stupidly high when you start, but its that high for a reason. so many young drivers crash (i've witnessed 3 people write cars off who had them less than a month) and the insurers have to make money somehow. if older drivers crash, their premiums go up too.

and its not hard to shop around. my mums only got about 3 years ncb, shes been driving for ages, and she pays £300ish a year. her previous insurers nearly doubled that for no reason, so she moved!

but pretty much everything that costs money can be done cheaper if you do it illegally. i can see why people commit acts of robbery, theft and fraud as well as deal drugs. doesnt make it right though.

meh - people do it. a ranting post isnt gonna stop it.

i did everything the right way. although i was helped out by Quinns 'drive anything 3rd party' for a while with the GTi. HELPED is all, mum still owned/ insured/ drove it.

now im almost 21, and will have 4 years no claims in february, and 3 and a half years driving experience.

aaahhh its good being able to insure Evos for just over a grand at 20!

having taught a few people to drive and been as a passenger with newly passed drivers, its justified that new drivers should pay more. Some driving is simply scary and personally I dont think the driving test is a high enough standard. Heck i know what I was like at 18. I wrote off my first car too but I know in hindsight that I drove beyond my skill.
The question is how much should you pay!
Young drivers are going to be in part time or low income jobs and therefore £4-5k a year is an extortionate sum - they dont want to pay all their money to an insurance company. But it needs to be enough to cover the insurance costs of damage to other vehicles - most newer cars which are now more expensive to repair compared to older more basic bodywork designs. Its catch 22...
Some of this can be alleviated by not buying hot hatches or cars popular with young drivers and therefore crashed a lot but as a new driver you want to have a cool /popular car to show off to your peers.
The only solution is to save and get a boring volvo..pimp it out and cruise

its not like they have a lie detector on the other end of the phone is it you daft prick!
For all they know the policyholder does drive the car more.
So then how does that make a guy, which you've never met a dick? are you just referring to all named drivers as 'dicks' now? Becuase thats quite a large population of people.
One accident was his fault, 2 were the other peoples. You cant just assume he's a danger to be on the road. Just shows how your mind works really doesn't it

What do you want a pat on the head for having 3 years no claims?

Becuase without insurance you will get stopped on the first night of driving and given 6 points and a £200 fine. Being a named driver isn't illegal. Driving more than the main driver is illegal, but then how can it be proved in the event of a claim? the named driver could genuinely be only a named driver?

Doubt it.

I think how the insurance companies quote you is ridiculous. Just becuase I live in an area with a bad postcode I'm getting bummed for it. My insurance could be £1000 cheaper by changing the postcode.

Not once have I made a claim. Until something ACTUALLY happens because its a bad area then I don't feel I should have to pay extortionate prices because of my postcode.

Your paying that much before because you live in an area that it is likely your car will be broken into, or stolen!?

Of course you have to pay more as its a higher risk!? People are ridiculous sometimes...

Has my car got broken into though?? No it hasn't.
Have I clamied for any damage/theft to/from my vehicle?? No I have not.

And unless someone picks it up and puts it on the back of a lorry, it's not going to get stolen.

I'm just stating i'm paying for the risk of something to happen, regardless of whether i'm costing the insurance company. Just seems unfair based on something as rigid as a postcode.

Thats quite contradictory as insurance is paying out money "for the risk" that you might crash...
