Far from it...

As said, a switch that cuts power to the coil. Then when you flick off the switch, the spark stops, the ecu is still fueling the chambers, then you flick the ignition back on, and BOOOOMMM!!!!!!

I did it for over a year, and never went a day without having a booming session. Never missed a beat.

Then did it on my next car too! I know 10's of people who do it.

My old VTR had a raceland 4-2-1 - decat- striaght through - Peco Backbox

Used to spit flames, bang, pop when ever I wanted it to really..

Was over fueling a tad though

Used to love it when doing some spirited driving changing gear and a little bang from the back or on down shifts around about 4krpm

My vtr pops and bangs all the time, its sounds good but it dosent flame. Only way too get it to flame is to have no boxes in the exhaust at all so a 4-2-1 mTiold and a pipe all the way to the back (no backbox) then you need to set the car up so that it over fuels like mad and the spark plug sparks late then it might flames.

Not true. I had standard manifold, a centre silencer, and a huge backbox (as in actual backbox was long, not a big tailpipe), and on my 16v that setup would spit flames on upchange, or if I tapped the throttle at anything over 5k.

Having a cat will stop flames though.
