Outrage uk,
Youve answered them questions so it looks good to the insurance company, either youve answered truthfully in which case ok that sounds to be legit as a named driver.or youve lied which will be hard to follow up if its a serious incident.
Remember not everyone is in the same situation as you.
Getting a claim isnt as easy as getting a quote.

I don't know what you mean - looks good to the insurance company?? The questions, surely anyone would answer them like that??
Obviously it's easier to get insured than to make a claim - otherwise everyone would be claiming for fake accidents and getting paid out. It's just strange how claims are regulated but the premium in the first place is just randomly picked out of the air.

i mean, it is what the policy covers, sorry.
im not having a go, if you have discussed your use of the car with the insurer and they say its ok for that policy then thats cool. just other people will listen to you saying fronting is ok and easily avoidable, yet may get into trouble. your insurace is a positive thing for you as a driver.

Im just thinking back to when I was 17 and my dad was ringing around, they both said "the only way to get realistic insurance is to add your son as a named driver onto your policy". Probably saying that just to get you to buy the policy from them so they can get their 10% commission, but its saved us thousands over the years and I genuinely do not think there is anything wrong with been a named driver.

i know, i was a named driver on my parents policy to begin with, few years back but now it has to be classed as 'main' driver. sucks really, would hate to be starting out now.

At the end of the day most 17 year olds dont have 2000 avaliable to insure a car, so if they can pay 800 they are going to.

well obviously everyone hopes they dont crash. a crash can also be financially inconveniant for an adult with many years no claims. Not always such a bad thing as a named driver as i said earlier in this thread, my brother had like 2 or 3 crashes as a named driver and got a pay out every time. i guess it depends how cuntish the insurance company is
