I was drawn in by "smooth engine bay" and I'm very very very impressed with the work achieved so far. I look forward to the final product here fella and I will definetly be looking through the rest of the thread now. I remember seeing the car last year at fcs and I look forward to seeing it again!

Hi there Paul and co, it is indeed still my brother and I working away on the 2 cars. The Carbon Clio has made a little progress, we got the engine and box in and have hung the bodies on to get an idea of how massive the space issues will be. Now just waiting for the time and money to make a bit more progress.

Cheers for the replies fellas

We're back!
Quite an interesting update here.
We haven't done a lot to the car for a couple of weeks now as we have been waiting on parts.
But then on Friday everything finally arrived.
Lightened and balanced crank and flywheel.
Flywheel is lighened by 1.7Kg and Crankshaft lightened by 3.7Kg making quite a saving on the bottom end overall.

The weight saving is really apparent when you pick these parts up.
So I set about building up the engine, although I didn't get too far as it was only after work and I kept getting hassled by my mate and his car!

So with the engine finally coming together we realized that we had been slacking with the rest of the car, so today we set about building the car back up ready to recieve the engine.

We also set about making a bracket to hold the new fuse and relay box for behind the dash and mounting it.

And this is how the car looked by the end of today

Cheers for looking, hopfully more tomorrow
