in answer to the question, they both feel exactly the same
nothing wrong with toyos though in terms of performance, just wear down quicker than other brands

Tyres are usually down to a driver preferance, i absolutely live the yokos and 2nd to them avons, the zv3 avon for the saxo is meant to be very very good but havent driven it so cant tell, avons are soft yokos bit harder but either way its driver preferance youll see what suits you soon enough

I got through a set of t1rs in 4k on the Clio. The proxe 4s I'd think would be a bit more hardwearing, had them on the saxo and they werent too bad but I replaced them with 888s

I thought the T1R's were good. I thought they were better than the PX4's also. Neither were great in the wet though!

Worked very well on my car, offer better grip and feel than t1r. Rainsport 2 are different than the other uni royal tryes, the rainsport 2 work really well dry and wet, very good in the wet very predicable,
But I don't really use road tryes on my car anymore,

T1rs are currently being phased out to be replaced by the much better t1 sport according to the place i get my tyres from. The sports are supposed to be much much better than the old ones.

Directional treads aren't being phased out.
Aesemetrical tread patterns are, not a legal issue, just better designs available

I'm riding on Falken ZIEX ZE-912
215-35-16 Rear (€101.50 each)
205-40-16 Front(€68.30 each)
Grip isn't too bad, better than dunlops but a bit less than yokohama's.
Ran em for 10K (KM) now and still lots of tread left (including the occasional trackday).
I'm well content with them for what they have cost me.

From a personal view Toyo T1R's i have found to be better than kumho and rainsport tyres in the rain and dry. Much less under steer over the others and surprising grip in the wet. At £60 a corner there is not much else in that price range vs performance. The best tyres for the saxo are the Michelin pilots around £120 a corner i have two at the rear and toyo's on the front. Cannot comment on the wear as of yet.
On vtr wheels i had a full set of Nexeen n2000 i thought were budget tyres, searching around i found alot of praise. They are very cheap i went on track with them they performed amazing for cheap tyres.
Other tyres to look into are the Falkens as mentioned eagle F1s, Dunlop and contisport.
