HOW TO remove black immobiliser box(non keypad models only)
a breif guide on how to remove the black immobiliser box on non keypad models so if you dont have the keypad this IS for you
ENGINE MUST BE RUNNING WHILST REMOVING BLACK BOX!!!!!!!!!!
IF THE ENGINE IS NOT RUNNING IT WILL LOCK YOUR ECU!!
1.locate the black box but dont remove it yet which is located in the passenger footwell behind the fuse box it will look like this:
2.start engine and leave to tick over
3.with the engine running remove the black box there is a plastic clip which i just prised it off with a small flat head screw driver and let engine carry on running for 5 mins
4.switch off engine then switch back on and job done

So doing this removes the immobiliser completely? I.E. no need for little plastic fob key?

It just de activates the imobilizer so you can use another ecu. the fob only unlocks the doors so will still need it

Worth noting that you leave the box disconnected forever and if you are removing the engine to put in a donor car make sure the black box / keypad is removed BEFORE connecting the engine up.
This method works fine but soon as you connect up a transponder box or keypad it reverts back to its locked state!

I didn't mean the central looking fob, I meant the Immobiliser fob that fits the little plug under the steering wheel

If I remove the immobilizer box as above, I guess I can cut all the associated wiring out of the loom too?

Same principle for keypad cars... Only you unplug the keypad with the engine running
