Clay Suggestions
Guys,
Going to be giving the 197 a full detail over the next few weekends.
However I'm stuck on which Clay to order, any suggestions? Ideally from CYC but will see what people say.
Also would be good if there is enough to do my dad's Mercedes too.
Cheers
JAM

I'm happy with my Bilt Hamber clay, can be used with just water as a lube. I've had it a good 3/4 years now, using it once or twice a year and i've still got some left, I think...

Personally, I find the 'AutoGlym' clay bar kit is really good, worked wonders on my Saxo. Got loads of the clay left, and after you have used your last piece, you can just go and buy replacements fairly cheap.

Another vote for Bilt Hamber.
I've done two cars now (beetle and a golf) and only used around 1/4 of the bar!

I like the bilt hammer one but I've been using the ultra fine clay that cyc do for the last 2years, cheap and you get 3bars

I got wolfs aggressive clay. Only clay ive used and it does the job but a little hard work on some bits which I was expecting a clay to just wisk away. Not sure if all clays are pike that or not.

Can you see a difference when using the clay?

Yea you can as the lights not getting broken by bits on the paint work = a smoother appearance

You can also feel the difference on the paintwork afterwards
I used the Meguiars kit last, was like £26 for two bars and the detailer and seemed to work well.

Had some good results today with the Autoglym kit. Borrowed it off the old man so it cost me nothing, thought i'd give it a try. Definitely worked well!

It works well mate, I have used it on 3 different cars with good results.
Follow the instructions carefully and don't let the clay bar rub over dry areas, keep it lubricated.
I found it easier to wash the car, hose it off and then claybar as there is enough water on the bodywork to prevent having to use loads of the detailer.
